Childhood Blindness Programme

The project "Improved Sight Improved Life" has been launched in the July 2007 in collaboration with ORBIS International to eliminate and control childhood blindness. This four year project was initiated with the objective of establishing a child / parent friendly pediatric eye care unit. Over the years 92119 children have been screened, 2214 children were benefited with spectacles, 284 pediatric life changing surgeries were also performed. Moreover 846 number of school teachers and volunteers were trained for screening vision of children and 210 number of ophthalmologist were trained about different diseases like squint, pediatric cataract, amblyopia, management through CME and HBP Programme.
